Mine goals are a bit simple and maybe the same as yours . . .Organization, Be better with time! Exercise and Eat Right, give me and my family home cooked meals! More time to my Kids, Work on Patience! Dates with my husband, to get to know each other better and how our days are! Be better at my Job!
So to start out 2012 right, Clint and are working on having healthy options for snacks. Great way to start right? I started out by going to Costco, purchased a few items like bagged celery, organic carrots, and bagged broccoli, Lettus for salads, cottage cheese, juice boxes, eggs, frozen strawberries and other frozen items to help for homemade dinners, chicken and meatballs ect. So to make it more convenient for us to grab items to take to work or when we have kids lessons we can grab from the fridge and be out the door in no time flat.
For the cottage cheese, I filled small black Rubbermaid containers with the suggested serving size of 1/2 cup in containers and put next to the veggies. It was cheaper to buy this big container of Cottage Cheese from Costco. Cottage Cheese is a great high protein snack that is often overlooked
for its protein content. Just one half cup serving of low-fat 2% cottage
cheese has 16 grams protein. Those who closely monitor their carb
intake may be pleased to know that a serving of cottage cheese yields
only 4-5 grams of carbs. (about.com for facts)
Now we need to work on our fruit intake. This is all that is left in my fridge of our Sunkiss Clementines. My family of five has gone thru about two bags in a week. . . .
Along with our new ways to start being healthy, we are taking Velocity and starting to exercise! Learn more about velocity HERE
So lets hear it, let me know what you do to save time on getting healthy snacks. . . leave a comment on what you do . . . I would love help, suggestions or any comments you may have!
